AID STATIONS
There will be two Aid Stations (See map). The 60-milers will pass both aid stations, the 33-milers and 18-milers will pass the Bean Canyon Aid Station once. 15-Mile Goose Riders and the 3-Mile Easy Breezy Riders will not pass any aid stations. Aid Stations will have self-serve water, water in cups, and light snacks. Please do not depend on these aid stations as your sole source of fuel/nutrition for the entire race. Although we will attempt to have adequate supplies for all participants, they may be gone when you arrive.
THE THREE AMIGOS - 3 PERSON RELAY
Sign up as a team of 3 for the relay race. The team will be given ONE bib between the 3 racers that has the chip-timer. The bib will need to be handed off to the next racer at the relay points.
-
LEG #1: 22 miles. The relay exchange point is at course marshal station #26, with parking nearby
-
LEG #2: 18 miles. This is the more technical section, the relay exchange point is at course marshal station #29 (with aid station), parking is nearby
-
LEG #3: 20 miles to finish on McPhee Overlook Trail back into Dolores to the finish line
Recommended Relay Plan:
After seeing off the first racer, we recommend the other two team members head to station #26 in one vehicle. Turn left onto 11th street, which turns into Road 31, two miles up the hill turn right onto road W to the Boggy Draw Trail System. Stay on the main gravel road until you reach the signs that say Relay Exchange Point.
After the bib exchange and racer two has taken off, racer one and three should head to the next exchange point at station #29. Go back to main road and turn right onto Road 31. Head up about 4 miles, and you will see the aid station and Relay Exchange Point on the left side of the road.
After the 2nd bib exchange and racer three has taken off, racer one and two should head back down the hill on Road 31 back into town to cheer on the finisher.
